Program and Outreach Manager

Family Promise Salt Lake (FPSL) is seeking a Program and Outreach Manager.

Position Overview

  • The Program and Outreach Manager will participate in the full functioning of Family Promise – Salt Lake (FPSL) by affirming and assisting the contributions of other staff, as well as professional and ethically represent the organization through the following:
    • Accountability to the Executive Director (ED) for Program and Outreach responsibilities including: Day Center Operations, Volunteer Outreach and Fundraising/Development as well as other duties as assigned.
    • Providing monthly & quarterly statistical information and reports to the ED and Required Funders, including management of Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) metrics and reporting.
    • Timely completion of responsibilities with minimal oversight, ensuring that program and guest/clients needs are being met, as well as identifying and reporting to the ED areas of concern/ inefficiency for the purpose of procedural improvements.
    • Maintaining the integrity of the program as well as providing support to the Case Manager, Housing Coordinator and Board of Directors as directed and/or necessary.

 

  • Program Management (60% of time allocation):
    • Day Center Operations:
      • Continually improve the functionality and use of the Day Center for current guests.
      • Collaborate with Case Manager on family intake meetings and guidelines for families entering program, currently in program, or preparing to graduate program.
      • Collaborate with Housing Coordinator on families preparing to entering transitional or permanent housing on needs, barriers, etc.
      • Provide Supervision of the Day Center Host/Donation Coordinator in the following ways:
        • Provide and manage volunteer service projects/opportunities for the community.
        • Coordinate Day Center supplies, maintenance, and donations.
        • Coordinate Day Center volunteers, tours and service projects.
        • Maintain a supportive and nurturing environment for guests while educating and enforce policies.
        • Assist in facility improvement projects
        • Manage van drivers, provide yearly reviews and training.
        • Maintain the van’s operation, insurance and licensing.
        • Coordinate the van’s schedule and drivers and guests.
      • Volunteer Management:
        • Oversee Volunteer Network and Support of Congregations
          • Establish and maintain relationships among coordinators and staff at each hosting and supporting congregation.
          • Ensure that the annual/monthly Host and Support Congregation Shelter Rotation Schedule is up to date and on target for support each week.
          • Coordinate and communicate guest information to hosting congregations on a weekly, sometimes daily basis, providing support and background to host congregations relating to guests.
          • Provide quarterly trainings and/or events to all congregations and assist with volunteer support.
          • Provide support to hosting congregations as needed in the event of volunteer shortages (some weekends, evenings, and overnights may be involved).
          • Create volunteer and donor recruiting, retention and engagement events.

 

  • Program Outreach and Development (30% of time allocation):
    • Fundraising and Development:
      • Provide support to the ED in all fundraising and development activities including:
        • Design, create, and implement quarterly marketing, fundraisers, communications, social media, and other events to support/highlight the mission of Family Promise Salt Lake
        • Represent Family Promise as necessary and participate in community trainings, planning councils, events, speaking engagements and congregational presentations. Some weekends and evenings involved.
        • Collaborate with ED on donor relations and acknowledgements, grant requests, oversight and reporting including identifying new funding sources.
        • Create donor recruiting, retention and engagement events including:
          • Work with ED to create, plan and execute annual, large scale signature events (2x per year)
          • With support from the ED, coordinate and oversee volunteer event committees who will plan and execute annual signature events
        • Work with ED to coordinate and support Board of Directors Fundraising Goals and Outreach

 

Other areas as assigned (10% of time allocation):

  • Monthly on call duties (one week per month or every third weekend).
  • Provide support to Case Manager in oversight of Shelter Program
  • Provide support to Housing Coordinator in oversight of Housing Program
  • Other duties as assigned/necessary

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Communications, or related discipline required
  • 2+ years experience working with homeless populations
  • 1+ years experience in program management.
  • 1+ years experience in proposal and grant writing preferred
  • 1+ years experience with large scale volunteer management preferred
  • 6+ months experience with development and/or fundraising preferred
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM software
  • Working knowledge of Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) (or ability to be trained quickly on data systems) preferred
  • Ability to work both in the office and in the field
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing practices
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Proactive and solution driven
  • Must be able to pass mandatory background check

 

Job Type: Full-time with on call duties

Salary: $35,000 per year starting, with annual bonus potential
